SRVO at One: A strong start with more to come

When we launched SRVO in January 2025, we did so with a clear ambition to build a multi-disciplinary professional services business that combined deep property expertise with the scale, consistency and agility the market increasingly demands.

A year in, I’m incredibly proud of what the team has achieved.

SRVO was formed by bringing together established surveying, valuation and risk expertise under a single, independent brand. We set out to deliver outstanding service for clients across the residential and commercial sector, invest in great people, and build a business fit for a fast changing regulatory and operational landscape, and I can confidently say that we have achieved that.

Putting Clients First

As a new brand, earning trust mattered. We introduced clear service level agreements, embedded response time targets, and invested in systems that improve communication, transparency and delivery. Just as importantly, we listened, using customer feedback to shape how we work and continually refine the experience we offer.

That approach has helped us strengthen long standing relationships while also supporting new clients across the UK residential and commercial sector including investors, freeholders, managing agents, charities, asset managers and local authorities.

Samantha Maskell, Head of Finance, Policy & Governance at The Richmond Charities said “SRVO Property has carried out detailed full and desktop valuation reports for Richmond Charities’ investment property portfolio on an annual basis for a number of years. SRVO’s thorough approach, reliability, and insight into the Richmond market give us confidence in our ongoing property decisions. The reports are consistently detailed, accurate, and clearly presented, and the team’s professionalism and strong understanding of the local market make them a trusted advisor.”

Investing in People and Leadership

Our growth would not have been possible without the people we consistently invest in. Over the past year, we’ve expanded our team significantly, including welcoming David Flack as Director of Risk – read all about it here – while investing in strong internal systems to help colleagues thrive and grow. From mentoring SRVO’s first batch of APC candidates to welcoming Mike Skehan as an Apprentice following a mid-career pivot, learning and development is key building a stellar team. In fact, a quarter of our Risk Assessors are former Fire Door Inspectors, supported in upskilling through training and mentorship to take the next step in their career with us.

We have also systematically built a senior team with the experience and drive needed to support both clients and colleagues. Clear roles, open communication and transparency around performance and priorities are central to how we operate, and will remain at the core of our identity as we continue to scale the business.

Evolving Our Capabilities

Regulation, safety and compliance continue to reshape the built environment sector, and we’ve evolved our services accordingly. Over the past year, we’ve refined and expanded our Building Safety and Risk and Compliance offering, introduced new specialist services including Visual Structural Appraisals and Building Safety Cases, and tailored core surveying and advisory work to meet the specific needs of different portfolios and asset types.

Alex Normand, Associate, Scanlans Property Management LLP said “We work closely with the SRVO team, especially drawing on their Building Safety expertise across our portfolio of assets under management, with regular insights on how to meet these important compliance standards. We find the team to be supportive and highly knowledgeable; they’ve been instrumental in getting us in the best possible position to manage High Risk Buildings across our portfolio.”

Being part of a wider group has also allowed us to collaborate closely with partner businesses, bringing complementary expertise together to deliver better outcomes for clients, covering everything from building safety and fire engineering through to energy and insurance related services. Looking Ahead to 2026

Today, SRVO has more than 65 people in a nationwide team delivering over 20 surveying, valuation and risk services. We’ve met our initial growth targets, strengthened our reputation, and laid strong operational foundations…

But this is just the beginning.

As we look to 2026, our focus remains on growing sustainably, further strengthening our senior leadership, and working even more closely with clients and stakeholders to navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead. Regulation will continue to evolve, expectations will rise, and the need for the trusted, expert advice we provide will only increase.

Our commitment is simple: to keep improving, keep listening, and keep delivering the best possible service for our clients and partners.
